Our annual BBQ competition held on Memorial day weekend at the Agriculture Fair Grounds. This event is for everyone, a great family day of eating and fun. There will be lots of food as the hopeful grill Kings are preparing beef, chicken, pork and more. Following the rules set forth by the Caribbean BBQ association, and judged by bbq lovers, the best smoking and grilling team will be crowned King of the Grill.
These teams of maximum 4cooks and a captain will share their cooking with the attendees who for just $10 are granted entrance to the event and will receive tasting tickets. Of course more tickets for side items or more tastings are available for purchase. Team entry fee is only $50 per grill and of course your meat item for judging. VIBES organizers and our sponsors will provide you with additional meat to share with the community attending the event.
Each year the proceeds from the event are shared with a nonprofit organization or a school student organization or to help an individual in need, as was the case of our first event in 2010.
So be a good sport, sign up a team or make plans to attend the event preferably with all your friends!
And finally enjoy good smoked meat’s from a charcoal never gas grill, lip smacking good BBQ, even the Governor steps in for a taste!
